ummm.. check the carbs n stuff like that... im not the best at sleds but that could be some of the problems.. just check.. o is there any mods done to it?
nope no mods complety stock sled...im just lookin for some input before i sends it into a shop to get looked at...but a friend of mine said that the cars could be out of sync or jets could be bad
polaris usualy develop a bog as they get older on start off...but that could be clutching...clean them up good with compressed air and some fine emery paper..put new springs in them both drive and driven(change mine every year just about)...ive even heard it suggested you should chang the springs with every belt because if enough heat was generated to kill the belt the springs have lost temper ...if you dont have the gear to take them apart yourself bring them to the shop its a quick swap out and any worn parts(like the sliders which i also replace every second year) should be easy to see...weather this is the cure for the bog or not it will make alot of difference to an older sled like that...owners manuals tell you this same crap but everybody ignores clutch matinance.....but a sled that age has to have a fue miles on it,cost you about a hundred bucks if something isnt severly worn inside ..you also want a good carb cleaning anyway at the shop runs 35 bucks or so that will let them get a good look at the guts of your carb anyway ....check your plugs to see if its running lean could also be a lean bog but you would of melted a piston by now if that was the case probably...ide also look at the intake rubbers behind the carbs they are known to crack even on newer sleds some times that would let the engine get excess air....rubbers should be easy to inspect when your having the clutch work and carb cleaning done which i recomend anyway regardless if thats the orgins of the bog or not...give your airbox a little shake too see if it rattles sometimes the shelfs inside break and could be starving the engine also..... look at your vent line from the tank to make sure its not pluged or pinched as well that would cause fuel starvation happened to my formula III.......after those checks all thats left i can think of is running gear like the bearings on your shaft but that should be noticable even at start off...its all stuff you should maintain and have an ocasional look at anyway
anyone think of something i missed?
im gonna get that all checked out to see how there doin...the previous owner had the motor rebuilt last year in rapid power sports, i have the recets, but i dont no if the clutches were touched
