Personally i thinks bombardier is the best cause there lightweight, easy to throw around and reliable....the yamaha weight a ton, arctic cat is plain shit lol and polaris aint that bad but they say there hard on gas
Can't let the arctic cat comment go...I have spent to much time with a yellow sled tied behind my cat. My M1000 is my third arctic cat...and of all them since 1994..only one piston. Seems like the cats always get laughed at, but when it comes to a good machine there is nothing but cat for me.
ive always wanted a new skidoo 800. but im not to impressed with the belt problems on the new xp and the 07 version.(blowing a 200 dollar belt could put me out for a couple weeks) now dont get me wrong i expect to blow a couple belts a year. but the new 800r doos just seem to eat them. i expected them to fix the problem on the new xps but they didnt. now i do think the ski doo 800 is the best stock performance sled, but to me realiablitity is higher then performance(and ski doos one piston ring always seems to let go around 2000 miles) so now ive been leanig towards the new yamaha nytro.(i know there 100 pounds heavier then the xp) but the chasis is solid and should hold up in the long run better then the pop can chasis doo produced.
i know its hard to let go(and i dont really want to do it) but 4 stroke is the future. with the solid nytro chasis and bullet proof engine(that can be tuned to get around 150hp and turbod if your buddies still talk shit).. it only makes sence.
Well, I can't let this discussion go without putting in my 2 bits!! I think it's all personal choice, brand loyalty, dealership loyalty and just plain using the machine for what it was intended! There was a time when doo-doo's weren't so lightweight you know. They weren't called Mach Tons just for the heck of it! That was back in the early 90's, and sure they have improved but they still have issues. Yamies do have weight issues, but they have the big HP and are good chute climbers, just watch some of the Hillclimbing vids---they're all the big Yami turbos. I haven't had much experience or know too much about the Polaris, we don't see many where we ride....must be a reason:-) For me and my hubby it's been Arctic Cat for 20+ years, the brand has been good to us, and the AC dealership that we buy from is what probably keeps us coming back......Bill Witt, owner of our local catshop (Howie's Marine Service) is awesome to deal with, gives good service and lets interested people demo his sleds every Spring in the mountains. He fights tirelessly for our riding areas, runs the local groomer, organizes all the rides, and is a real true ambassador for our sport. Arctic Cat even donated the money for our local safety shelter, and is helping us in our fight against the M.O.E. closing down our riding areas due to the Mountain Cariboo. So, you guys have your reasons why you ride a specific brand, and so do we. Arctic Cat sleds are not only fun to ride and reliable, but what other brand out there stands by their product so much they offer a 4 YEAR WARRANTY?????? Enough said!!
your right it is all personal choice and what you like more....im a bombardier guy and i will be for the rest of my life...me and all of my family growed up on those skidoos and i think we will die riding them to lol
well me personaly i likes da cat i driven them all me life but the past 2 years i owned a mxz 500 liquid 2003 she is alot better and faster than the ones i have driven.. soo ski-doo all da way... for u mike ur m is sick man next time u comes home n their is snow man i wunts to test her eh.. let ur cuz try haha
I currently ride skidoo, I have had polaris and arctic cat as well. Hubby has a Apex and loves it besides it's weight. I have heard awesome reviews on the polaris so far. I am not sure I will ever be able to ride an arctic cat again, my M7 that I had for 2 months left a very bitter taste for me. I will continue to ride my doo until the brands are proven to be more reliable and I find me a good dealer!!! I honestly believe they are all good it just requires knowledge on set up.
what other brand hmmm Ski doo does and has done so for 5 years ...i had 4 year warrenty 4 years ago its not a unique cat thing yamaha has 5 years lol...get this i did have the ring turn trouble but not one single suspension issue not even a wheel bearing and you all see how i use it lol 2 sets of ski rods thats it...50 dollar deductable twice for the ring issue actualy broke a chip of the piston was at 3000 and 6000 miles 10300 miles now hasent happened again im tearing it down for the hell of it this fall new pistons and rings....all the high mile cats here had so much trouble the dealer actualy gave up he lost so many friends not dising cats just they seem to have alot of nick nack issues..i hate the bearing setup for example...had one then a polaris ,bought back to back ski doos though put 20 000 on my last one before i lost a piston(my bad took it racing without fall carb cleaning the things still going up in pasadena must be pushing 30 000 km now....ill let everyone know if 2 strokes are a thing of the past lol after i get the new e tech next spring (cleaner than 4 stroke better on gas same amount of oil as oil changes on 4 stroke..actualy my 800 power tech better on gas than the 4s already)...im not brand loyal but love to jump ,all 3 apexs here in town had suspension issues, some major so that rules those out for my needs...now that new snocross cat looks tough from what races ive seen would like to have one of those but theres no dealer here have to truck em hundred miles for all those recalls etc..oh ya the polaris was as tough as nails had to get rid of it the computer system was crap ,should of got the carb model.
Ill ride anything like i said long as its convinent and works..if it dosent work i sell it ...when it works i ride it till it dies or new tech forces me to move up(sold my polaris for 4000 the very next winter after buying it new because the computer issues drove me insane guy converted it to carbs no small feat ,harder than he thought, sorry Art lol)
