We used to hunt years ago, kinda got out of it for awhile. My husbands parents own a trapline so we spend time out there and the kids love it. They are into hunting big time--they usually go up to Ft. St John every fall for Elk season, and they usually luck out with a moose and a few deer. We still like to fish and my Grampa has a boat that he charters on the saltchuck (Kitimat). The last time we were out there was the summer of '05. We had a really good time, got our limit in crab, Eric got a salmon, and we all got some halibut. We spent 5 days out there on the boat, and boy I tell you it was sure nice to get off onto dry land after that!! lol!!
used to eat those crab all the time when i lived in van ,love em,was there 2 years working didnt get to go sledding ..im an idiot for not going screw it ill be out there again...great pics, i just got back from driving around taking pics of caribou moose and geese ...wow was the wildlife on the go this evening, sneaking up on 2 caribou i stumbled on a moose really close (10 yrds)with the camera turned off got one pic though 100 yards away could of been a great shot if i hadnt of been jogging back the(snowless) ski doo trail to cut back on the caribou..next fine evening im going again, was a blast...heres the pics i got ...should note geese are usualy quite wild here unlike you see them out there..this is VERY close for newfoundland they must of just returned from near a city somewhere on the mainland.

I grew up doing both, unfortunately as far as the hunting I was just a tag along with my parents. I asked them the other day, why did you never teach me to shoot a gun after all the guns, shooting and hunting they did. They never even thought about it they said. So I went to hunter safety, and now I love to hunt. I have a 20 gauge that I love to shoot trap with, my .22 for varmets, my colt .45 for my concealed carry (yes I have my permit), and my featherweight .25-06 for hunting game (deer and elk). I have not hunted every year, but I try to at least get out and scout em out!!! I also have a bow, that I would love to hunt with, I just do not have near enough practice yet and hubby just rifle hunts :( .
Ill definatly check it out...we managed to get another ride today bit of a strugle to get in crossed 2 brooks but was worth it.... Welcome to the site by the way i just this second got home from the ride.
LOVE to archery hunt elk - the BEST! (I even called one in too close too fast last year and got STEPPED ON! - by an ELK!)
Also, big game hunting - have some pretty nice trophies.
Been lucky drawing tags so already have a moose & mountain goat...just waiting on the tag for a bighorn.
Love fishin too, altho' for now, it involves setting up worms for the kiddos and making sure they don't hook each other. ;o)
